Highlight your accomplishments so they can be easily seen in the first 30 seconds a recruiter or future employer looks it over. If the good stuff is hard to find, we will move on to the next.

Knowing you still need mentorship and guidance for the first few years shows you know your limitations but it will also highlight where you want to go next.

Each experience contributes to your growth and helps you define your preferred career path. Don’t dismiss a location because it’s not exactly where you want to be. If there is an opportunity outside the city, think about the benefits of being in this location; less competition, higher compensation and benefits, more exposure to a variety of procedures, more mentorship and connection with a seasoned provider, and increased patient compliance. Will you get this same experience in a different, more populated location?

6. Ace the Interview: Prepare for interviews by researching common questions, practicing your responses, and showcasing your passion for dentistry. Communicate what you want and what you are looking for. Be on time and in a quiet setting so your recruiter or interviewer has your full attention. Be yourself!
